Sources close to the couple insist that comedian David is determined to save his marriage to the Dutch beauty

David Walliams has told pals he will do whatever it takes to save his marriage to model Lara Stone.

Dutch beauty Lara, 31, apparently left home with their son Alfred, one, on Tuesday to start a trial separation.

A source close to the Britain's Got Talent judge David told The Sunday People: "He does not want to walk away. He thinks talking is the answer and has suggested options, hoping Lara will try a recncilation. He'll do anything."

The comedian was spotted out still wearing his wedding ring, hours after it was reported that he and his model wife had broken up.

He was seen filming BGT at a London theatre yesterday.

Fellow judge Simon Cowell said: "He's doing fine, he's a trouper, a great guy."

An insider also told us: "David has seemed withdrawn."

The star also put on a brave face as he stepped out to film a sketch for Comic Relief this month after Lara left their home.

The couple, who have been married for five years, have not officially commented but it is thought they have not decided whether the split will be permanent.

"David still hopes they can get things back on track for him and their son Alfred. He still has a lot of love for Lara," a source said.

Lara did not attend any of the BGT auditions with David around the country, and has been away on modelling assignments, including posing with Justin Bieber in January, and spending time with her family in Holland.

Recently Lara has posted more messages on her Instagram account about her friends including photographer pal Michael Angel than her husband.

The supermodel has known Michael for over a year. Her most recent post to her friend was two weeks ago when she put up a snap of a couple dancing.

And at the weekend, she uploaded a cartoon of a girl looking like herself in floods of tears, saying: "Mood."

Walliams tweeted his army of fans yesterday that he would continue with a planned tour of schools today as part of World Book Day.

He said: "The #WalliamsWhirlwind helicopter tour of schools for @WorldBookDayUK tomorrow will go ahead as planned so not to disappoint my young fans."

And followers were quick to offer him support. One wrote: "Huge hugs and love to you both xxx."

While another added: "David I do hope you're OK. Much love x."

News of their split has not come as a huge surprise as they have barely been seen together over the past six months.

David and Lara last posed up for a romantic pic on December 21 when they attended Elton John's wedding to David Furnish.

Two days later they watched the London production of Edward Scissorhands, which was the last time they were seen out in public together.

Lara and David have a reported wealth of almost £19million – David has a net worth of £16.3million and Lara £2.6million.

A spokesman for the pair declined to comment on the trial separation.
